2015 Quarterly Update

Currently on the injured list – so it finally happened.  Things definitely turned for the worst post Brooklyn Half as I ran through the pain and will probably be racing by September.  The pain is within my right foot where there are some tears on my post tibial tendon via medial side.   I had this issue since October of 2014 right after being sick at the SI half, however the pain wasn’t that bad that I would I need to withdraw from any races.  I guess all the racing through the pain has caught up to me and after 9 years of constant racing, *BOOM* sidelined for awhile.  In the meantime, I had come into terms with mediocre races and strive to get recovered and healthy again:

NYC Half – 1:24:35

*Tough race!  I was definitely inconsistent for this one.  Moreso, I haven’t been consistently going through the workouts and the tempos.  I paid the price for this one in hopes of preparing for Boston.   Overall, it was not my best, but moreso over the fact that I struggled immensely to keep it under 1:25.  Again, more workouts are needed

Boston Marathon – 3:06:48

*Again, ran through injury and was hoping to keep the mile splits consistently under 6:55s.  I think I did that throughout for the most part but the wheels came off at mile 17.  Perhaps I should’ve kept it conservative for the first 17 @ 7:00s.  I hope to recover from this injury and race this again in 2016

Brooklyn Half Marathon – 1:26:13

*This was a tough race.  Due to my father’s prognosis, I questioned myself  “Why am I here”?   This was a few days before my father passed away.  I woke up at 4AM and decided to just do the BK half as I know I won’t be racing for awhile.  My mind was not in the right place and perhaps I should’ve stayed home.  Nevertheless, I kept it consistent but moreso ran through the injury.  I was definitely a emotional wreck from miles 4-5 & 8-10 as I couldn't stop and cried just thinkin of my father and what's going to happen
