2012 Chicago Marathon - 2:56:32 / 6:44 (PR)

Net Time: 2:56:32 (PR)
Pace: 6:44
Age Grade: 70.76%
Rank: 607

Almost two years and 30th marathon later, I nailed a new 26.2 PR..  Although it was only a 1:09 PR, i felt it was a good and solid effort.  My race strategy was mainly to keep it steady and consistent, under 7:00 pace and over 6:30s throughout.  I was lucky enough to tag along with a group of runners from Wesleyan XC so that may have helped.  Overall, my legs felt fresh even after racing the Narrows Half (1:22) a week before.  In addition, I think all the racing from the previous weeks, lower mileage (40s) and well rested vacation may have helped.  A key take away from this race was the fact that I never really hit the wall and stuck to my race strategy.  Next up, the big apple
