2012 Providence Half Marathon - 1:23:26 / 6:22

Chip Time: 1:23:26
Pace: 6:22
Rank: 28/3574
Age Grade: 70.99%

Instead of racing the Battle of BK (10Mi), I opted to race the half marathon and made a mini-weekend trip out of it. Hard to imagine that it has been over 20+ years since I've been to Rhode Island, and it definite is a picturesque/artsy city. As far as the race go, it was tough. Reviewing the course elevation, it seemed relatively "flat". However, the hills throughout the course made me pay the price of going out too fast in the beginning. I think if I had conserved a bit on the first 8 miles, I wouldn't be hitting 6:20s on the last 3-4 miles. If there's any validation or satisfaction, I guess I can say to myself that it was my 5th fastest half marathon.

Splits:
01: 6:13:12
02: 6:18:22
03: 6:17:21
04: 6:18:81
05: 6:30:45
06: 6:10:07
07: 6:12:76
08: 6:18:88
09: 6:28:30
10: 6:29:60
11: 6:26:70
12: 6:25:87
13: 6:34:40
.1: 42:12

I have never been to Rhode Island, looks nice! It's always nice to mix a race with a getaway!
