Clarence DeMar Marathon - 3:14:10 / 7:25

Chip Time: 3:14:10
Pace: 7:25
Rank: 23/240

Race Results

This race went better than expected after my poor performance at Sugarloaf in Maine. Overall, I ended up with my 5th fastest marathon time. Hopefully this is a step to the right direction.

The course was very reminiscent of Boston where there was a huge downhill portion followed by rolling hills on miles 12, 18 and pseudo-heartbreak hill(s) on mile 23. Yes, the second half of the course was deceiving and brutal. Overall, I felt great throughout the race. On hindsight, maybe I shouldn't have held back on the first half of the course. But what's done is done and hopefully I can be a bit more consistent and take more risks on my next marathons.

I have to say in terms of scenic runs this is definitely a close second after Charlottesville. I'm beginning to enjoy the smaller races without all the noise and cheers. Most of the time I was running in solitude and enjoyed it. The view from Gilsum to Keene was breathtaking. Would I do it again? Of course, but probably not in a few years as I have knocked New Hampshire off of my list of 50 states :)

Now the FUGLY...the dreaded splits:

Miles 1-3: 21:54:12
