Bronx Half Marathon - 1:31:13 / 6:57
Chip Time: 1:31:13
Pace: 6:57
Rank: 240/3668
Age Grade: 64.9%

The Bronx was my 19th half marathon. Strategically I was all over the place since the last half marathon I raced was the NYC in '08. Knowing the fact that I wasn't 100%, a 1:32-1:33 time was the most realistic. I definitely pushed too much in the beginning and wound up with a skew of 7s on miles 7-10. Being overzealous on half marathons (my favorite distance) really made me paid for it in the end. By the time I've entered into the grand concourse, I was a bit lethargic. Despite that, I hung on and gave it my best shot. Since 1:31-ish will do for now, I gotta' man up and work harder to compete in Boston. This is good; after a let-down in Miami, maybe this is a good build-up for things to come.
Going off the tangent, I had a heavenly experience with Mary Dub during our subway ride back home. I'm glad to have the NYRR organization run by her. She is just a charismatic and enthusiastic individual. Although she spent a great deal of time icing her knees and foot, she took a general interest on all the runners in the subway car. I have to admit that we followed her to the first subway car; just to be next to her. For a lack of a better word, we kinda'....ummmm...(i really dont want to say it) stalked her. During the ride, my buddy K and I were fighting for her attention. I can now profess my love for Mary Dub.
Aite, I will be swoonin' over this experience on my ride back to the 'rents in queenz. more pics to come-

wow fast half! not too far from your pr and you just ran a marathon not so long ago (and the nutty stair race). nice job and glad you were lucky enough to see your crush.
Great job especially considering that you weren't 100%!
Nice job - you've got some nice speed man.
great time for that course! hills, plus all the twists and turns to deal w/!!
Good job on the half marathon. You are a beast, especially 2 weeks after the Miami marathon.
I haven't run for a week because of my groin injury caused by the Miami marathon. I'm gonna have to take maybe 2 more weeks off before that stupid muscle recovers.
I am hoping I will be able to train again for Boston, albeit not for time.
Why so soon after the marathon?
And two words for HMs: negative split.
awesome half man, see you in boston!
