RATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Happy New Year
Happy Chinese New Year! It's really that time of the year where I happen to get $2-$5 dollar red envelopes as opposed to the crazy amounts that my other chinese friends get. I guess I come from a thrifty family :)
Heck, it is the year of the rat. Rats get a pretty bad reputation nowadays. Through media, they are associated with being dirty, toxic and diseased. I think most NYers are so immune and not scared of rats due to the fact that we see them on the streets at nite, central park or the subway tracks all the freakin' time! However I wiki'ed the positive traits for rats and it includes: "Meticulous, intelligent, shrewd, compassionate, charismatic, charming, ambitious, practical, industrious, honest, eloquent, versatile, familial, creative, hard-working, neat, organized, lovers of music, loving" (Ref. wiki)
So next time when you see a rat, they are your friends and *gulp* your neighbors as well. Be nice to the rats!!!! I guess I should be friends with Splinter....

talk about thrifty--this year, i received $5 from my parents and nothing from my extended family.
Cute cartoons! You don't want to know how much I'm used to getting (although this year it might be nothing since I'm getting way too old for this).
Oh, gross! I didn't notice that the second picture had real rats in them.
