Murray Hill - You Phucking Rule!!!!!!!!!!

On my way to work this morning, I came across the ubiquitous ads invading my neighborhood courtesy of Virgin Mobile. I believe there are ads like this in every nabe, but is it suppose to be funny? Am I going to find myself purchasing a phone via virgin mobile?? Meh.

"so you are not gramercy park at least you're not sutton place. you're quiet, livable and dependable - the affordable grand dame of midtown. and you got a couple of decent curry joints too. which may explain your very dependable hospitals. hey, there's no shame in being a lagoon of calm on the worlds craziest island. An island where most people allow themselves to be tempted by insane cell phone contracts when they could just as easily get what they want without being locked in for years. that seems more like you, murray hill, because you have common sense in abundance"

Someone must be living under the rocks to write this stereotypical garbage filled with half-truths. Firstly, we are not trying to be gramercy and sutton place. In the end, it is all about personal preference. Secondly, it is more than just curry joints....there are also decent italian, thai, greek, pan-asian, japanese, chinese, american and seafood restaurants. Somehow, there seems to be a negative stigma living in Murray Hill, hence "the shame". Actually where is the "shame"? During my apartment searching phase, the moment i stepped into Murray Hill, I knew this was the nabe for me. No buyer's remorse whatsoever! Man, I'm proud to be in Murray Hill, so screw you Virgin Mobile!!!!!!! :)

And of course....after lunch I came across this:

Another Virgin Mobile invasion in Lower East Side after dinner in Koca and drinks @ Gallery and The Orchard-

Here's another pic taken right before drinks at Plunge the Buddhakan in the Meatpacking/Chelsea area on Saturday Night:

I heard there are ads like this Brooklyn as well...maybe I should make a trek and check it out :)

Running
-Topped 34 miles last week, and should close around 38 by this Saturday.
-Felt great pacing for my friend/TRD teammate for Japan Day, hence there is a possibility that I may run the Father's Day 5 miler. I do not expect to PR in this event and for a goal time I would like to aim for 34 minutes or sub 7 pace. In the end, if I were to run, it really depends on how late i stay up on Saturday.
-I will not be running as a guide for this year's Hope and Possibility. I'm pretty bummed by it. I will be out of the city during that weekend. Somehow vacation plans just popped up!
-I can't believe I am resorting 50% of my running on the treadmill. I need to get out of the gym and into the park
-I have this nagging pain on my right hamstring that just won't go away!!!!

Aloha and Cheers,

Moz
