Perfect day and weather to race for the NYRR Club Championships! Since there was a picnic after the race, I got up early for Sarge's on 36th/3rd to purchase assorted bagels. Then off to the 6 train and headed towards 102nd. Coach spotted me near the registration tent as we walked aimlessly to find our tent (what a way to start the day!). Nevertheless, we got in touch with bap and val and found a spot near the Harriers.

At the start, I huddled with jgo, bigir, DK and bruce. However, I couldn't spot mog at all; damnit! Anyway, I decided no PR will be set today as I haven't been ready with my annoying hamstrings and the ligament/tendon pain on the back of my left knee. At the beginning I was definitely a bit apprehensive in hurting myself again before the NYC 1/2 marathon on 8/27. Hence I'd see how I feel on the first mile and decide how far I can push myself.

Fortunately, I experienced very little pain while I was running; although the pain only starts when I slow down.

My final net time was 33:50/6:46 pace. Although it was not a PR, I was satisfied with my performance and the fact that I was able to run with little pain was an added incentive. Anyway, I really want to thank all the dogs who came out cheering for us at the race; your support was amazing!!! Furthermore, whoever made those cookies, cakes and muffins - thanks for the sugar rush and damn it was good!

This sunday, I went for a easy 6 mile loop clocking at 45:44. Again, there was little pain but i'll continue icy-hotting it till the NYC 1/2 Marathon. On a random note, I saw nyflygirl twice and ron (TRD) once while doing the loop. (holla!)

COUNTDOWN: 6 More days till the NYC 1/2 Marathon - my most anticipated event for this month! There's 10,000 entrants, and I really wonder what the ambiance will be like running with so many people! Chaos? Rampage? Eh...I don't even want to know. But I did pay $60 for it, so if the experience was like a warm beer, at least I am getting a FREE NIKE DRI FIT t-shirt (at least that is what I am hoping!) Anyway, so i checked my email and I got the 2nd corral start or whatever that is. I guess I'll find out when I show up at 6am, hence I'll refrain from hard liquor and beers on Saturday nite (shit!)

Asides from running, the US OPEN tournament is underway. I managed to take several days off for the event and I simply CAN'T WAIT!!

One more musical note, from Duncan's last concert, it was announced that his double disc anthology, "Brighter/Later" will be released on 10/2; I'll be sure to add that to my collection.

Next up: The Dears, (Possibly) Pete Yorn in the Mercury Bar or CBGB, then TOOL!

Thanks for the dogs who took the pics. Courtesy from the TRD website, I managed to snatched those pics into my blog. Also when I looked at the pics from the TRD site, I didn't realized how close me, DK and Jgo were!!!!!!! Now that's awesome!

Congrats to all the dogs for making it out there and thank you for the support!

Aloha and Cheers,

Moz

Nice race! Do you know the " IB Relief Lotion"? Works very well for me if I have insuries. You get it at the NY Running Company at Columbus Circle.
